A Woman in the Workplace: How it Really is
Department/Organization: Association for Women in Science
Location: Atwood Chemistry Building Room 360
Time: 12:30 PM
Date: Mar 14, 2017
As part of Emory’s Jones Program in Ethics, AWIS will host a panel session about post-graduate school women in a wide variety of science (or non-science) fields. Panelists will discuss topics such as; how they deal with having a family, the work environment, if they are ever harassed and how they handle it, along with how they got into their current profession, and any struggles they have experienced for advancement. AWIS members will introduce the panelists, as well as the goals for the session. The panel discussion will be guided with questions submitted ahead of time by graduate students, though audience members will have time to put forth their own questions to the panel. This is an opportunity for graduate students to gain information and advice. Snacks will be provided.
